The Brief

Pyro Media had the pleasure of collaborating a series of informative videos, communicating innovation to prospective business investors. This is a showreel of snippets put together of the final videos that were presented. Through the direction of the production team of Blue Bottle Productions, we set to work by utilizing 3D modelling, animation, graphics, designs, scientific illustrations as well as assisting in 2D infographics. These videos ranged from improving the health of the South African population, safeguarding personal information through technology, saving the planet through solar energy, to the benefits of 5G communication. Through these videos, the UKZN professors and students are able to transform their ideas into easy to understand and engaging visuals. We would like to extend our gratitude for the dedication and commitment of the team at Blue Bottle Productions.

Challenges / Solutions
  • The biggest hurdle was taking 10 incredibly complex inventions ranging from deep academic research to high-tech industrial designs and shrinking them down into friendly, 90 second videos.
  • We acted as the bridge between the inventors’ big ideas and the investors’ needs, making sure all those tricky requirements were met with a creative touch that made the projects shine.
Outcomes
  • These videos did exactly what they were meant to do they helped secure the funding and sponsorships needed to get these projects off the ground.
  • with some even being picked up by government and big corporate partners.
